Roman Starns, Business Counselor/B2B Instructor - brings over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner out of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. He has previously served as the Senior Business Advisor for the SBDC network, an SBA lecturer, program manager for Restore Louisiana business program, and as head of PAVE for veterans initiative. Roman joined the Veterans Business Outreach Center at Mississippi State University in 2025 as the Louisiana Lead Boots to Business Instructor and Business Counselor.
Roman possesses expertise in leadership, finance, financial planning, human resource management, marketing, operations, strategic planning, accounting, business growth, loan packaging, forecasting, and business development.
He earned an MBA from Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business with a 4.0 GPA and Beta Gamma Sigma Honors, and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from LSU.
Roman proudly served as a Senior Co-Captain on the LSU Fighting Tiger Football team and is a permanent member of the LSU National “L Club” as a Varsity Football Letterman.
